As in stuff laying around, I don't have much. Took it down there out of interest and got £3.50 usually just give to scrap people but was curious,

3.50 for 4 kilos.

Yeah, isn't worth going there for small bits.

My dad does weekend jobs for people and keeps all the metal and stuff that gets removed and takes it down to weigh in when the back garden is full of shit. Got 230 quid last time.

Knew it wouldn't be loads, thought maybe £5-£10. Wasn't particular heavy just lots of items taking up room. 4 springs, 3 driveshafts few irons bars etc.
Not bothering to store due to space reasons in the garage

Me? No, I mean the price was too low.

Wouldn't have logbooks anyway, the cars shouldn't come with them if they're cat C.

420kgs I got £42 so it's easy to work out. When you see your car scraping on the floor it seems like loads but it's not that great.

Same happened to me, I find the scrap dealers will give you good prices a few times, then they will try for the bargain load,

We had a guy came round the workshop once every 3 months, must of thought he was the only scrap dealer in the highlands, offering £10 per manufacturer cat and nothing for aftermarket (but he'd still take them away for us :lol

I've give loads away and then realised they are just scrapping it for cash. Like alloys etc. I find it a bit gippo of them tbh. Left some for a chap and someone else took them.

Would rather go to work and let the peasants fight for old metal.

Found a 6" x ~20" strip of lead on the roadside the other day, going to add it to my dad's pile as he's a roofer. He weighed in a big tub full of lead of cuts the other week and got £230 for it. He had various other iron bits like a fireplace and a boot scraper and got £25

"clean" metal is always worth more, a washing machine is fine but contains a mix of metal and plastic. I took a set of alloys to be weighed in last year and I was told that had I cut the valves and the weights off I would have got more than £20
