Any of you that are into your retro games, will be aware of the myth about the thousands of dumped ET Atari games from the 1980s, that were rumoured to have been buried in the desert because they were so crap.

Well, apparently they've been found in New Mexico

Probably but it was more of a case of testing the legend and myth that Atari dumped a load of unsold ET games. Although i imagine it's going to affect rarity and resale value of the few known to exist prior to this uncovering.

This. It was one of those urban legends, with loads of rumours of them being buried in different places, including under a concrete floor in a factory. Now they've been found, it confirms the rumour, rather than meaning that you'll now be able to get your hands on the Atari ST2600 version of ET, which as Dom said, was properly shit. Voted worst game ever apparently
