Cheers for that mate. The guys at my tip seem pretty laid tbh and don't appear to care went there today with about 20 bags in a zafira and they didn't mind at all.

Surely all those trips to the tips is costing you a small fortune in fuel. I'd just get a skip, a few mates around and get it filled up in a Saturday morning and the skip gone that same day.
Cost of a skip and a few beers won't break the bank.

Tips 5 minutes away mate. I could fill a skip in a day but as it's 25 or so degrees here currently, i'd rather not spend the whole day digging.
An hour here and there seems fine for now.

Could you not just get a skip with a permit and put that on the roadside rather than your car?

Depends what the policy is on taking a van.
Liverpool council won't let you take a van without a permit.
I took a stickered hire van in the other day, gave me a temporary permit for one week in Kirkby with it being a hire van
