Been quite tempted by a seat Leon cupra r recently, on a 2004/5 plate
Are they decent motors?
Anything in particular to look out for?
Seem to hold their money quite well

Very good cars. Absolutely loved mine and always regretted selling up.
Standard things to look out for are water pump upgrade and cambelt at around 60k

The are very prone to water leaking through the inner door seals, cheap easy fix tho. The rear washer hose can sometimes pop off as well and you'll only know when you go to wash the rear window lol. Coilpacks can go from time to time but at £30 each is another relatively cheap fix, piss easy to change as well. Having said that I only changed a set on mine once in the 70k miles I had it. One of the best lookin 5dr cars out the wrapper IMO and go very well.

IIRC, they are prone to leaking in a few places. Couple of mates have had them, 1 found the leak coming from the bulkhead, the other couldn't find it, and his had already been sealed up on the doors etc.

Mine and my mates both had a leak, used to be a pool in the back everytime it rained. Couldn't find where it was coming in from either .

I have a 2001 Leon Cupra, not the R.
Awesomes cars and I can only imagine the R's are even better (haven't been in or driven one).
Defo one of the best looking 5 door hatchbacks you can get.

driven quite a few as my mate buys them to break lol. standard ones are ok but you need a stage 2 at about 280bhp for it to go well,
just check cambelt etc as lot get sold with snapped cambelts
