Is this why the Sky EPG said a character was returning?

I'm still convinced Ned Stark will come back somehow.

Definitely, I reckon. He keeps being mentioned. Was gutted when that little shit killed him.

It was brilliant, done exactly what an ending should do (as frustrating as it is) in making you want to see the next one straight away.

Also love it when absolutely nobody is safe, no matter how big a character they are.

If GoT was released on VHS in the 80's, this would be the intro.

Apologies in advance as I'm a bit late to the party here. I've been busy so I'm now just catching up on the last two episodes of season 4.

I've just finished the episode which is spent at the wall and thought it was really good.

I'm doing my best to not sound like a broken record, but wtf was going on compared to the books?! There were several characters in the episode who in the books were either long gone on a different adventure or had been killed at the hands of John Snow way before any fighting started!

I'm really enjoying the tv series, just find it odd how far it deviates from the books at times and misses bits that would make for great TV.

I think it best to accept that they're going to be different, I read somewhere online that reckons the books and the show are going to drift further and further apart as time goes on. Probably several reasons, George RR Martin has been quoted as saying he'd like more episodes per season (presumably to get more in) but that may not necessarily happen and as such they need to make it fit the confines of the season and episode length while maintaining the quality of the show.

It would be nice to get it all in but let's face it, a lot more detail and storyline can be crammed into the books as they aren't costing $6million per episodes worth!

That's all stuff I've read online, if anyone else has read different or additional info then feel free to correct me, it's all hearsay!

I fully accept that it will be different, it's just a bit odd at times. It doesn't take long to chop someone's head off who should be dead!

I suppose George RR Martin is taking advantage of being able to modify the story, possibly in hindsight .

Roll on season 5.

Thank fuck it deviates, despite starting the books myself the subtle comments from folk that have read the books as to what happens next were starting to get tedious.
