Did later ones have the LET suffix then Nic, or did you convert a NA red top to LET spec?

Bloody hell Nic. Just when I thought I was as impressed as I could be with the stature of your B's performance and the way you went about sourcing it
Truly hats off to you old bean. It now seems even more of a shame that she's gone.
Need to make the van fast

Can get them to about 130bhp I think. It's decent to drive as it is at the moment really.

It seems to be a vw thing historically.
1) Take one very heavy vehicle
2) Install smallest or most underpowered engine imaginable
All the old boxer engined vans/buses/campers i've seen through work were fitted with portal axles. I think this wasn't entirely a ground clearance thing. Moreover a way of moving something heavy with an absurdly underpowered engine, via gear reduction.

i will look into getting a few more bhp from it, although it is quite economical it seems. 340 miles from half a tank isn't bad. works out about 40mpg.

Christ, that is good. Especially for something of that weight and shape.
Wish I had something that economical.
