I'd say no. Permit holders only until 8. Before that they also allowed pay and display.
Unless you have a permit obviously. And given that its 20 to 8 I'm sure you'll be fine

Permit holders only up to 8pm, can't buy a ticket after 6.30.
No mention of what happens after 8 though?

Cheers for the quick replies. After 8pm it's free to park according to the machine.
I can only assume that the 6:30-8pm permit holders only is to allow the locals a chance to park outside their houses. I'm in central London at the moment.

Surely it's simple or I'm missing something 
Weekday 9 - 6.30 pay or have a permit
Weekday 6.30 - 8 permit only
Weekday 8pm - 9am free parking
Saturday is just a bit more convoluted as they've added a break in the middle to allow permit holders a chance to park close to home after shopping etc
