My works Blackberry has died today and i can't afford to be without one this week as I have far too much going on. It will take at least a week for a new one to come. However, I've got an old Bold 9700 at home but it's locked to 3. How and where can I get it unlocked tonight?

Purchase an unlock code from eBay or the various unlock sites around. Doubtful you'll get a code tonight though, usually they take a good 24 hours if not longer.

Edit - You could try a local mobile shop first thing tomorrow and see if they can unlock it the same day.
