Hi folks iv just done the piston rings, head gasket and fitted a reconditioned ported and polished head to my x16 and just wandered what run in rituals you all use im thinking of using shit oil for about 300 miles (thsts what iv done so far) then change back to my usual castrol magnex and a new oil filter then drive it another 250 at a normal pace before opening it up a little at a time

There's so many ways people say to do it. Personally I ran mine in the same as you  I ran mine with mineral oil for the first 500 miles and just took it steady. Oil and filter changed to semi-synthetic then started to open it up more. Worked fine on mine
