After finishing my 12 month contract for my HTC One S in March/April I moved on to Giffgaff and am enjoying £10/month Goodybag. I've only topped up once since the initial top-up too.
I think it is about time to retire the HTC (which I hasten to add has been faultless other than the "helicopter" issue on 2G data). Looking at the Giffgaff phones (as I don't really want a 24/month contract elsewhere) I am considering either the LG Nexus 5 (at £11.40/month + Goodybag) or LG G3 (at £17.26/month + Goodybag).
Which is the best phone to go for? I think the LG G3 is newer but I know the Nexus phones have always been good. What does the Nexus 5 compare to?
Your help Corsasport would be greatly appreciated
(And yes I know their pay monthly is essentially a 24 month contract )

Think the new nexus should be announced soon. John will tell you its the best phone out, I've had the 4 for two years nearly now and its hardly missed a beat in that time

Yeah, spoke to a friend who said about it. Should be very competitive too if I can get it on a 0% purchases credit card.

I'm waiting for the new nexus but expecting it to be too big. If you wait another bit for a 5 (which is definitely still the best phone I've had) it'll probably drop in price when the new one comes out.

Can get a nexus 5 for £250 still and they are great phones. Never had any issues with mine and battery is very good too
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Battery isn't good in comparison to something like the OnePlus One, which costs the same.
Really wait a couple of weeks though in case its cheaper. It may or may not be.

Hmmm. Should perhaps loom beyond Giffgaffs offering then.

Looked at this a bit more.
LG G3 on Giffgaff will be over 24 months:
£50 deposit +
£16.03/month phone
£10/month Goodybag
= £674.72
LG G3 on O2 4G (via Carphone Warehouse) will be over 24 months:
£28/month+
no upfront cost
= £672
Marginally cheaper and don't have to pay a deposit.
Hmmm.

It's swings and roundabouts though, no upfront cost but you do pay more per month.
Are the tariffs comparable?

My Nexus 4 is still solid so I will vouch for the 5, with the caveat that I haven't played with one!

Pretty much yeah. I don't use anywhere near the allowance for calls or data on even the lowest tariffs.

Gone for the Z3 Compact.
£25/month, no upfront, EE 4G, 1000 minutes, unlimited txts, 1GB data and hopefully £30 cashback via Quidco. From MobilePhonesDirect.
