Looking at buying and collecting a T5 Transporter this week.
It doesn't have any MOT or Tax. It's a 62mile drive back.
Can I book it in to my MOT station and drive it back and be covered because its booked in? or is that a bit dodge?
Or can you Tax vehicles now without an MOT?
Thanks!

Not sure if anyone has tried it and been done for choosing an MOT station miles away. I would guess it would be down to a court if you appealed it.
Not sure you'd have a great defence for it. Although the law doesn't specify where the test centre should be.
You'll need the MOT before you can tax.

I've done this myself before and genuinely took it in for the MOT.. However its a very, very grey area.

My car failed an MOT in Birmingham and I drove it about 80 miles to somewhere else for repairs, as per the rules. I did phone up VOSA and ask them if there was a restriction on the distance you could drive in these circumstances and they said no. All seemed a bit dodgy to me, but no one died, the car got fixed and then MOT'd so all was well.
