Now I've ordered a car but Ford have cocked up and won't be supplying any of them with the rear privacy glass from the factory. Now I really want the windows tinted so will get them done once I've took delivery, a lot of the windows that aren't tinted from the factory always look purple when you go past them in the sun, is this the case for all are can you get them done so there not like that?
I won't be doing them my self so will be going to a company but don't want them to look naff and cheap.

Can you simply not ask ford to have an approved supplier of there's to refit new windows once you have taken delivery?
Or have they cocked up by not charging you for them in the first placed?

No they won't retro fit according to a letter from ford, basically they originally spec'd the new ST-3 to come with privacy as standard but they've now pulled it and all orders are coming with out no matter what.
They've added privacy glass to the style pack but aren't letting you have that as an option until March, there small prints says they can alter after order of required so I just need to find a really good company who can tint them and not look awful

Major cock up by Ford. It's the reason I didn't order a Focus ST just before Christmas.
Most people are getting £250 back AFAIK.
I personally despise aftermarket tinted windows. You can always see the dot matrix areas and it just looks crap.
I had them on my old corsa B and the orange heated lines in the rear window stood out like a sore thumb.
Btw you are able to reject the car as it's not as described, but you'll obviously have to wait ages for a.new build date.

Yeah that's what puts me off after market tints but I'm in a position where I have to order with out I'm also missing out on the 19's which is really frustrating so will have to purchase later on...
I'm getting mine through my dads work as I'm making a huge saving on it so I can't refuse it, even buying the alloys and tints I'll be massively better off but I hate having to do it this way when in a few months it'll probably be on the option list..
Can you get tints done that are not purple looking? Or is all film like this?

It will annoy me but there's not a lot I can do unfortunately but get them done as well as possible

How do the dealers get around not having the dot matrix stuff showing? Just do that.
And Ben, just because it never had tints you didn't want 1? As if.

Iirc the glass is tinted, not a stick on film after the fact.

Why should I buy something I don't want? It's not a problem for me to wait until they get the production sorted eith regards to the style pack (which includes 19'' alloys and tints).
It's not just the tints.
There's a couple of pics online that show the massive improvement the style pack adds to the looks. I'll try and understand load them.

These are the 19'' wheels and privacy glass They look fantastic compared to the outdated 18'' st alloys. I believe they come in gloss black which look awesome with stealth grey paintwork.

The 19's look amazing if I'm correct they also come on the Mondeo as an extra in silver where with the style pack them come in black
