I'm off to Disneyland Paris for a few days next week. Just wondered if there is a lot of police/cameras on the run into Paris?

I'm told that the toll roads are decent and quiet and the weather looks alright, so i'm hoping to bomb along at a decent pace.

Is it ok to cruise at 90 and (hopefully) avoid on the spot fines? Do the police just sit on the roadside?

cameras you don't need to worry about its the police hiding you need to be careful of, you won't see them.

I got done on a toll road on the way down to lemans doing silly speed and i got a hefty fine

The speed limit's 80 - just do that. The police hide behind bushes and their speed cameras are disguised. Getting a fine kind of ruins a holiday

80 in the dry, speed limit is variable in France depending on the weather conditions. I got done in Switzerland last year - don't dare drive back through next week in case I get sentenced to the death penalty...

81/82 in the dry, 70 in the wet. They hide like sneaky fuckers so just set the cruise at just under 85 if it isn't raining.

You do get a nice ticket if you get caught though... Was doing silly speed for France on a stupidly long straight motorway

Was a 130 limit = 80mph
High Speed of 180Kmph = 111mph
Average of 171kmph = 106mph

so far (touch wood) I havent been caught in France, and done a fair bit of driving.

Been flashed in a UK reg'd car - nothing ever comes of it.

Fee got stopped boming along a B road equivilent in an Evoque (UK reg'd, left hand drive).... really confused them. Pretended she didnt speak French and got away with a bit of pointing and warning.

Some great roads.... but the police are out and about. Get some good races out of the Toll Gates on the autoroutes. Driving a Bentley GT and was side by side with an R8. Would have been rude not to
