I've been borderline too loud at 105db trackdays the last few times, so want to fix it. Obviously backbox is the most influential part of the exhaust system, but I like mine - so looking to perhaps silence the centre section which is currently a straight through pipe.
I think I can buy a resonated centre for about 130quid, but the silencer on the picture looks tiny and from googling reviews it seems that the tone is changed more than the actual volume. Wondering about popping along to a custom place to have some silencers welded onto the centre as I guess I can be more "bespoke" and aim for a specific dB target.
Is this going to be cost effective, or am I just better off swalling the 3-400 for a new catback system which is sold as trackday friendly?

Tony Banks in Leeds are highly recommended and think my brother had work done by them. Sure they could either weld in a silencer or at least stick a removable one on there incase you have issues.

Try www.kmsmotorsport.com
They are based in Wigan.
Eric is a sound bloke who owns the place and my mate Chris is the custom exhaust builder and development guy there.
He was the development guy at Blueflame before they went bust.
He would certainly sort out what you need for the car.

Guessing that's the guy who did the exhaust on my XE, one who owns the Astra?
In the five or six years that I owned it, that was the best bit of money I spent on my Corsa, awesome bit of workmanship and will be going back there to get one on my current Corsa

After dealing with shitty 'custom' ones for years that used to fall off or just come apart and sounded awful, was god send getting the BlueFlame

How many boxes does your system have? Mine has 4! Silenced De-cat, Cat back with 2 more silencers and back box. Always under 90dbs. Was 86 at Combe last year lol

Decat downpipe, no silencers.
Decat mid-pipe, no silencers.
Straight through centre section, no silencers.
Backbox, kind of a bit of a silencer
I've got ceiling for improvement, let's say

Chris didnt have the Astra as he's a massive Ford man. The Astra was owned another good mate of mine called Graham.
Chris did do the exhaust on that Astra but the cars been sold on now. He also did the exhaust on my Corsa.
He's a skilled lad at getting them perfect

I was looking at getting a cat-back made for my R32, couple of places I looked at which are probably the closest you'll get are Tony Banks, and Zorstec in Shipley
