Early MK 1s are cooler, be it an MG, an MG Turbo, or a Vanden Plas, but you'll struggle to find a good one now and it won't be cheap, plus they're not as modern or well put together as the last of the Metros.

Interesting Metro fact: The MGF/MGTF front and rear sub-frames are both based on the Metro front sub-frame, you can literally take an MGF rear subframe with engine etc. and bolt it into the front of a Metro (granted it wont have any steering).
Its actually pretty comical how the tie-rods on the MGF rear sub-frame are literally a fake steering rack .
MG Rover were tight bastids!

I had a GTa, was a great little car but they rot like fuck and are dangerous in accidents. My mate was killed in his Metro GTi at 17 after it slid on black ice and got t-boned by another car, there's little or no side impact protection. The suspension is hydrolastic I believe and difficult to improve. I remember wanting to put bigger wheels in mine but there's an obstruction behind the rear wheel so could go any bigger than standard without spending a small fortune (at the time back in 1998).

I used to walk passed one when I had a paper round. It was like a pearlescent purple colour. Think it had a 'Knightsbridge' badge on the back.

My mates mum had a proper old school 1.3 GTa back when we where 16, his mum used to leave it at the train station everyday and we would bunk off college and go and take it with the spare keys, drive to Wales then take it back for 5pm
She gave it to him eventually, looked awesome in red with the GTa kit, fucking death traps though

I quite like that for some reason
Remember back in the day of southend seafront there was a mentally quick one. Had shit suspension though as it looked like he was going to bounce of the road if he hit a bump at speed
Drives supercharged Tec with torque

If that had been left alone, it'd probably be worth what he's asking.
As it stands, it's pretty much worthless.
