I had family over for dinner yesterday and my Bro-in-law showed up in a white RS4 that sounded like war.. He had just picked it up so I accused him of looking like a chav but he said "you've got to take this thing up the road", now he's had some pretty mental cars so if he says something is rapid its generally rapid..

The fucking thing's a death trap they are 420bhp as standard but I'd say its been mapped to within an inch of its life, totally un-driveable with the traction control turned on.

Sadly who ever did all of the modifications neglected to spend any money on the brakes so its a bit scary

I didn't even take a pic but I managed to capture a still from the CCTV:

If I wasn't MR sensible these days I'd definitely have bought it

Interesting if it was white from factory - very rare indeed.

You don't get many power gains from mapping these but if done correctly common to achieve around 440hp. Sounds like it may have been mapped by a bunch of idiots instead of a reputable tuner i.e. MRC. I wouldn't take mine anywhere else.

Brakes are one of the many achilles heels on the B7 RS4.

Its a straight shell, it has however been resprayed (black to white), its a decent job but it seems pointless.

The shit brakes probably made it feel a little faster too

I came back feeling a bit flustered and not many cars have done that to me in the last few years

Mine is factory bar a few small aesthetic modifications and I still know what you mean in terms of flustered.

A very engaging car to drive but can be quite a handful at times. Find myself quite tired after an hour out on a B-road blast.

My thoughts are:

Its a very tight car but it feels massively nose heavy and the rear brakes have got far to much bias (although that could be down to the coil overs) but I'd like to think the bias valve is a bit more complex on a modern care than just a valve and a spring

With the TC off to get it to slide you have to give it everything otherwise it understeers, and if you even look at the brake pedal on anything other than a perfectly straight piece of road the rear end gets upset.

From my time viewing them before actually buying (circa 2 years), good examples have been increasing in value. I'm not going to pretend it's an investment but the depreciation is almost nothing at present.

You can't even get a Cat D example at a bargain price.
