Loved my old Derv Vauxhalls however having been out the scene for a while and wanting to get another im trying to get a newer model but am unsure if vauxhall are still using the M32 gearbox??
Trying to get a good Isuzu lump and know your supposed to avoid anything with a 6 speed but at any point did they change out the gearbox from a certain year/ model?
If anyone can suggest something better upto the 4-5k range I am open to other derv brands if their maintenance is not killer like cars from the VAG group

Vag maintenance isn't a killer really.
Vectra CDTi doesn't use the M32 box. Although I think it's luck of the draw with the m32 anyway. Guy I know had an Astra sportive 150 van. Hammered it all the time. Drove like a twat. 08 plate, has just got shut of it on 120k. No box issues.

Best off getting the 1.9 8v CDTI 120bhp then get it mapped as there are less thing to go wrong compared to the 150bhp ones.

the Vectra 120 does have the M32, might went bang at 132k.
Had a leak fuel rail on the astra i had with the same engine, quick eaasy check, fuel then killed the starter motor

I had to replace the EGR valve and manifold on mine last year. I blame the short journeys in rush hour traffic for it.

I had two starter motors go on mine because a garage didn't replace the O ring when replacing the fuel filter. It dripped for ages on the starter motor as its directly below the fuel filter housing.

Really want something either Corsa or Astra sized. Not really interested in the 1.9 or 2.0 diesels as I just prefer the tried and test Isuzu lumps, I know they arent as smooth but they are more reliable
So do all newer Corsa's and Astra's still use the M32's?

I'm sure the 150 CDTI doesn't use the M32 either, just the 120. And Alfa Mito's. Mine went at 83k.

I've got an Astra 2.0 cdti uses a f40 gearbox. Think mine needs a clutch though. Only on 50k

Just so hard to go into a car knowning they have Gearbox issues not to worried about the smaller parts but Gearbox is not something I know about.
So basically anything 6 speed diesel wise is an M32?

There are 'major' problems with most cars. Just find a well looked after example.

It's a 2013 2.0 cdti 165. Think the 1.7 diesels use the m32?
