NO dealer stickers is a big giveaway, can always see dark patches in the grill too, and the bmw's up here have a tiny rectangular box on the bootlid.

Not sure why as the police haven't used Vauxhall for years

Mainly Kia's VW and BMW supply only for forces

Think it's probably because it's white and similar to whatever the Hyundai version of the Astra is that the police use as a panda car

Think the last Astra I saw was 05 avd. Utter heap of shit diesel they kept it going for years too

Been done for years, not new. Where I used to work had a show car that had them hidden everywhere, in wing mirrors, roof bars, light clusters, as "parking sensors" etc etc. They built a Focus ST for Devon and Cornwall with everything hidden as a video surveillance car.

Article is a bit stupid though, only valid point that you can see from a distance is the rear sitting low. Might as well have put "look at the driver, are they wearing police uniform?"

Astras down here too. Us Southerners that earn money means more taxes for better cars.

Unlike Kias up North

My old rule of thumb was if it had a private plate, then it won't be the plod. But now they have them around here.

Kias Hyundia Shmyundai

Still have unmarked Volvo's around here. Can see it as clear as day as it is the biggest saloon, double exhaust, grey and also has a small camera/box on the boot lid

So in other words it looks good and is therefore not owned by a traditional Volvo driver

I think majority of unmarked cars stick out just on the way they're driven. Have been caught out a few times tho

Astras estate on the M6 south of Birmingham today. Was in a van so spotted his uniform as we started to pass. Looked completely unassuming.

So unassuming that a black Audi A4 didn't spot him doing approx 100mph and having to brake hard.

Needless to say 1/2 mile down the road the Astra was on the hard shoulder lights flashing and Audi infront of it.

Portchester Carrera that booted it up the slip road is lucky the Audi was there

From my experience Police can use anything.

I used to see an unmarked blue Astra daily where I used to live and I have been stopped by an unmarked Ford Connect. Kia and BMWs marked appear popular.
