Gents,
whats the earliest i can send it in for an MOT? I dont want to be trying to get it done after New Years ideally as i need to commute to work and back. What do you think its best? WHats the time allowance for 'grace' if i did wait until after New Year
Thanks in advance

Edited: this will be the cars first MOT

You can get a car MOT'd whenever you want iirc? But if you want to use the most of the current it's about 4 weeks before, so you'll get the 13 month ticket as such, I think

Give or take 30 days to preserve the anniversary date, yes.

It should say on your existing MOT the earliest to take it.

If it runs out 31st you can take it any time from 1st to preserve the date.

Then I'd have thought it doesn't matter. First MOT will dictate anniversary date moving forwards. Not the date it was actually due e.g. 3 year from first registration date.
