Hey everyone. I managed to buy another Corsa B GSI, this one is in flame red and it's just been dropped off tonight. I bought the car without seeing any photos of it. It's been stored for the last 12-15 years and hasn't really been started. Quick question, before starting an engine after this period of time should I be checking anything or replacing anything asides the usual things (oil, fluids etc)? So, it's a nice example, paintwork has faded big time and it's got a few unsightly mods. Therefore if anyone needs the following..
Morette headlights painted flame red and work perfectly.
E tech strut brace.
Scorpion exhaust system.
South African (maybe) rear lights
Millie miglia 16 inch wheels
Gmax 60mm shocks and springs (good condition)
I also need a few things. I need the following.
Corsa gsi original wheels
Gsi non airbag steering wheel
Standard headlights
Standard rear lights
Gear knob
Standard tape radio
Door handle plastics
Speedo plastic surround
Anyways lads if you have out let us know, cheers

first thing is do is turn it over by hand with the plugs out
Then I would replace cambelt and water pump
New coolant
Oil and filter
Set of plugs
Fuel filter (drain any old fuel from the tank)
Fire it up let it idle right upto full operating temp

How do I turn it over by and Tom? And why not turn it over electrically out of interest.

and turn it over clockwise using crank bolt
you do it to check it's not seized or the timing is out doing it on starter could damage internals

As said, the time it's been stood I wouldn't want to turn it over on the starter motor and the old probably perished cambelt. If anything is amiss it'll be fucked.
Drivers side wheel arch get a bar on the crank bolt turn it over a few times. Id fit a new cambelt and water pump before going for the big start uo
