that is my only worry.

Would like a corsa gsi or similar as a project but for me they are all too far gone and too far between to do. These seem to fit the bill better.

Can't say I am disappointed when driving my GSi, they are clearly not as quick as I thought they where when I was 18 but it's a good trip down memory lane

What's the worst than can happen, buy one, don't like it and sell it

Yer I expect it to be rattly and unfined as I have clear memories of it been exactly like that

Tbh its probably no slower then my current gt86 given the weight.
Just need to sort out some storage. If that goes to plan I might get one to play with over summer and if it loses its appeal or im not feeling the magic I can get rid again.

Do it, If I could get my hand on an old 1.9gti 205 with some twin 40's I'd go back, Awesome awesome car, and wouldn't get a dog for the amount of money it sold for nowadays

I liked my Vts, had it as a second car when I had the astra gsi, it was a quick little thing, but things fell apart daily

106 would be a good buy, i can't see a great loss, if not profitable when you come to sell.

They aren't any worse than an E36 BMW if you look at it like that

Not if you are patient and replace bits and pieces as you go.

All old cars are best left as fond memories, in fact that applies to pretty much everything girlfriends, consoles etc.
