Recently bought some heat wrap for the exhaust manifold and got it fitted, fitted new bolt threads and copper bolts for manifold and fitted inlet manifold too. Got the fuel rail back together and fitted that.

Inlet and fuel rail fitted

Fitted 1.0 fan to the new radiator

Made my own gaskets and got them fitted

Heat wrap bought

And fitted, still need to get a couple of bolt threads for manifold

Gearbox finished

And back in the garage

Update : 16.04.17

We finally got the engine in and all wired up,all hoses connected up but had no luck starting it. Had a mate come round to have a look at it and he said the loom had seen better days and to get another one. With us originally wanting to go dispack,we then thought to go down the distributor route because parts are easier to find for them. Found a good condition loom uncut, replaced the exhaust cam to fit the distributor, got ourselves a coil and new maf sensor. Got it all changed over and wired up.. started up straight away. Then had a few teething problems so got the codes up,2 codes came up.. icv and tps. So we replaced the icv and are still waiting for the adjustable tps and new throttle body. Once fitted it should run a lot sweeter. Here's some pics of how we've been getting on.

Engine ready to go in

Loom tidied up

And fitted

Air box fitted

Had the ceseros refurbed

Swapping the cam over

Maf sensor fitted

And how the cars sits now, just waiting for the new throttle body and tps

Thanks guys!

Once the engines running spot on,we'll start to concentrate on the body work and getting a GSi kit fitted to it. Still got Softstars to go on it,need to get spoiler and fuel cap painted too. And then obviously get log book sent off and getting the insurance, tax and MOT sorted.
