Hey guys most of you won't remember me but thought I'd put a bit of a build thread up, lock down has me bored

Bought this back in. February last year, didn't have intentions of buying another Corsa but it was local, standard unmolested with just 48k so had to go have a look. Liked it so brought it home.

Plan was to keep it standard with some Oem extras but that was never going to happen

Got some new old stock mudflaps from vaux

Then looking around I came across wheelbase website which still had speedlines listed on there website, sent them an email and they found. 2 stored in there ware house so snapped them up.

Then scouring through gumtree this popped up, should have stuck to. My guns and kept it standard but it's not hard to change back again it only bolt on parts that's what I tell my self anyway

So sent it to the Bodyshop to get the kit painted but unfortunately found a lot more problems than I first thought. Rust had set in all the usual places.

Sourced a brand new grille and splitter from chap on Facebook.

And all finished and home, I also made a set of smoked depos while it was away getting the work done so put them on.

Sourced 2 more speedlines and sent them of to be powder coated in the same shade of silver as the originals, got them wrapped it toyo proxies and ordered a set of Gaz ultra lows.

Will update more after dinner

Started cleaning up my arches ground down any surface rust and removed old underseal, primed up and painted with bilt hamber Epoxy mastic, took brake calipers off and done them red too.

Got all new suspension parts from Autovaux and fitted them along with the coilovers.

The end result

Have also got this mantzel power box to fit when I bring it out of storage and will be getting a new exhaust, was planning on taking it too a few shows this year but the way things are going can't see there being any. Maybe next year.

This is my other current project too, can't resist a tidy vauxhall when I see one

Arrived with a very manky cream interior, carpets were horrible and badly stained so picked up a black carpet and trims for £20 out of local breakers yard.

Also got a irmscher boot spoiler and got that painted and fitted along with rear mudflaps.

Went and got the Corsa out of storage yesterday to give me something to do while I'm off work, started fitting the Mantzel Powerbox today what a pig of a job that is, spent more time trying to get the intake pipe out from behind the engine more than anything else, have to finish it tomorrow all being well.

IIRC The removing of the throttle body isn't exactly a walk in the park either, at least you have the benefit of a removable battery tray, severely scratched knuckles on that one

Your not wrong on that one arm and hand scratched from top to bottom , finished it off today and trying to tidy the bay up a bit, just seems very cluttered imo, must remember to take a couple of photos tomorrow.

Yea I love them, sadly had to sell it though as it was taking priority over the Corsa, needed fixing on a weekly basis

That Corsa is beautiful. Done a remarkable job on it, love how low it sits and it really really suits those speed lines. Great thread

Shame

I've had like 4 Omegas over the years, they were always fantastic other than the random ICV failures

Been tidying up the bay the past few days, finished fitting the Mantzel up and tried to fire it up but wouldn't go, was looking for ages to see what was wrong then I realised I left disposable gloves in the lower inlet to stop.dirt dropping in , so off it all came again, was able to get them out and turn the engine by hard to tease them off the valves. Re routed the blue plug below the manifold too.

Looks a lot tidier now, want to buy a stainless 4 branch but can't justify it when they have a 4 branch as standard.

Looking good! How did you manage to reroute the big blue plug?

Thanks your build was actually my inspiration when I bought mine

I followed the wires from blue plug down the back of the engine and unplugged them all and pulled it all through the gap in the lower inlet, its very fiddly have to do one part at a time, the injector plugs are on the same Loom too so they need clipped out. Then just re routed it all behind, and brought the plugs that were needed up top back through the lower inlet, its time comsuming but worth it imo.

Cheers mate, I've been thinking about doing it and the inlet is off at the minute so probably quite a good time to get it done. I run a 421 on mine but I've had nothing but trouble with it tbh, it's a terrible fit and leaks where it joins the cat no matter what I try.

Which 421 have you got? I was looking at 1 on ebay from a shop in Germany look like good quality, bit hesitant to buy one though in case the fitment is poor.

I bought it second hand but I am sure it is the TA Technix one that is on ebay. Fit on the head is fine but I found the join on the manifold to downpipe was rubbish so modded mine to allow me to use proper exhaust clamps but the join to the CAT is the worst part, the angle of the downpipe is off by a few degrees so it won't sit flush.

Once things return to a more normal state I am planning on getting the downpipe welded to the CAT with a flexi in it if I don't decide to just return to the standard one and do away with the issue entirely.

Ah yea was looking at the Ta technix ones too, there's not much to choose from now. Did you notice a difference with the manifold? I've had one in my watch list on ebay for ages but bit reluctant if the only benefit is that it's shiny stainless

Car has had a blow out in the exhaust from I got it home and found out there was a big hole in the downpipe, ideal because I was debating to buy a 4 branch or not so that decided it, got one of some German company on ebay, feels more responsive and tidies the bay up a bit more. Also fitted some stainless steel bolts for the wings.

Also got speedlines back on

What do you think of the exhaust mate? Which one is it? Fitment okay on it?

I bought one from a German ebay seller Gm-carsolution, looking at a Ta technix one though it looks identical. I found the the fitment to be OK, it came with a flange with a bit of pipe to join on to the original exhaust, I only did a rough fit though as its going in on Monday to get the rest of the exhaust done but I'm happy with it.
