I normaly just buy the vauxhall semi synthetic stuff for my 1.2 16v sxi. I dont do many miles, (about 3000 a year) and only travel about 2 miles to work so the engine never really gets to running temp. I need a v good oil to stop the premature wear this is going to cause on the engine. I have seen adverts for this magnetec oil by castrol and wondered if anyone could recomend it? Is there any corsasport members out there who are educated in this area or work in a garage etc who can give me an informed answer. Thankyou.

There's nowt wrong with Vaux semi-synth. It's what I use in my 200+bhp 1.6 engine (revving to 9K) and what SBD recommend for their racing engines. It's bloody good VFM too.

Well, i went to Vauxhall and bought theres as normal. Only I spent a few extra quid and bought the full synthetic (5w40). The guy there told me it would be better but i dont know how much to trust him.
I do go on my bike weather permitting, but when i'm on mornings (5:30 start) i dont bother, im just not a morning person.
Oh and the cars done 19,000 miles. Which is cock all for a 4 year old motor.
£11 for a polen filter! robbing b@s!ards. And what a mug i am for buying it.
