I have 195/45/R15 Nankang tyres on at the moment on my TSW Evo R's, they came on the wheels as standard.

The thing is the front as worn low like mad, on ly done about 6k and they are nakered, the backs on the other hand are completly fine with lots of tread left.

I dont wheel spin my car or anything like that so have put the problem down to lowering my car so will now get it sorted.

The thing is I want to keep the same type of tyres all round instead of different types, but I have heard some good and bad reviews on Nankang tyres. Has anyone got any opinions on them??

I have found them to be alright, but not too good in the wet. If you're carefull though you can get away with it easily.

So basically 2 questions,
1) Are Nankang any good and would you recommend me replacing just the fronts with new Nankangs
2) Should I forget Nankang and get a completly new set of tyres considering it will probably be setting me back around £60 a tyre for a decent make meaning its about £240 all round.

Cheers people,
Sean.

never heard of nankang, but toyo's seem a popular choice on here m8. I got BF goodriches on mine n cost me 115 quid for 2. wouldn't bother swopping fronts with back ones as tread is so low as when it rains, u will loose grip on back tyres

I had full set of 195/45/15 bout a month ago, got them from a friend who is a tyre rep. Falken tyres, identical to Goodyears so Im told made by the same anyway. Those cost me £150 ish for all 4 fitted. Look good and handle so much better than cheap tyres.

Get decent quality tyres I always say as its the only thing that keeps you on the road. Not work getting cheap ones that wear quick etc.

Have you seen the tread pattern of the Eagle GSD3's? Looks even better than the Toyos

Next time try the goodyears. I guarantee you wont go back to Toyo's..

195 on a 14" rim is rather wide. tyres will be expensive i think.

Thing is that the backs are still fine on tread so I dont want to be replacing them if they are fine, waste of money in my opinion.

I would personally not buy nankang. If you look on mytyres.co.uk you can get something like yokos a539 or pirelli p5000 in 195/45/15 for under £60 a tyre and also its free delivery!

Yeah but buying from them means when you go to get em fitted to the rims you will be paying a fair bit extra.
