Hi,
Since replacing my loom for the donor loom for the elecric window kit, my rear right hand door has not been working central locking wise. I don't know if this is coincidence or if the replacement looom has screwed it?
The alarm or central locking do not work the rear right door anymore!
I have tested the wiring - the auto electrician who did it says the wiring is ok, but the solenoid doesnt work. I put a spare solenoid on the connector and that did not work either. I put teh same spare solenoid on the left rear door and that DID work.
Could it be the central locking control unit behind the ECU?
I've a spare unit i could try but don't wanna go taking the car apart if that isnt the problem. I could get Vauxhall to check it in my soon to happen Service, but you know their labour rates!
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Auto electrician is myteriously hard to contact now!

Its not a big job to change the central locking unit!
Just unclip it from the footwell and try your other one.

There must be a break in the wire somewhere if the CL doesn't work for that particular door!

Thats waht I thought. Should I take it to Vauxhall or check the wires myself? apart from folowing them I have no other diagnosical equipment? I suppose they can sort it while they sort my air bag!

It could be something simple like a connector or something not plugged in properly, etc.
Also, check that there are no loose wires where the body wiring looms connects to the dash loom.

Yeah will do. What would the worst-case scenario be do you think?

Well it's obviously got something to do with the body wiring loom as it worked before you changed it, so I would get that checked out!
You know the black rubber 'O' ring connector thing that goes between your door pillar and your door? Well take that off and compare the pins on the male and the holes in the female ends to make sure they match up!

nah that didn't happen Sam - the loom was cut and soldered together next to the drivers seat in the side panel where the rear door joins the loom. the colours match and everything.
