I had this virus, spend my afternoon getting rid of it!
Go to Symantec.com and get the fixer for it if you have it on your home PC - the links on their homepage.

Yeah its the msblast virus just keeps shutin ya pc down all the time when u connect to the net u need to download a windowsxp pacth to sort it out ...

i aint got it, but the uni has closed all their pc clusters, and last i checked, they'd shut the intranet servers too.
when i spoke to them at the ISS help desk at uni, they didn't seem to happy

if u cant get onto internet with XP. activate XP firewall, then once on internet, go to www.microsoft.com, click downloads, select option 4 and click on download on righthand side and open from location, job done

its a worm , not a virus
unstopable if no firewall
and you dont have 2 Download to get it , uses internet port

any uni/network should have 135 blocked anyway for incoming/outgoing internet, stops alot of fucking trouble

granted but first not many students will be around in august i would of thought? and teachers/whoever arent going to cause havoc on a network they need to use.
If they are doing their job right you shouldnt be able to plug in a usb hd/storage device, email should be scanned on the server ended with an up to date virus definion file. Plus normal email tatics like banning fanny file extentions such as exe.
OH and the patch was released ages ago, and using filtering on internal routers/switches wouldnt be a bad idea either.

its a port , cant be uploaded by a H/D or usb hub - lol
its a worm that floats around in cyber space then tries evry machine 2 get in , and does if no firewall ....... you can rename the file and dlete it ....... system32 / blast or somethin !
