I'm running a Pioneer DEH-P5330MP head unit with a SPLX MF 800 amp running 2 subs and they will run fine........until I leave the fascia on and turn the igintion back on within 60 seconds or eject and insert a cd directly into the head unit. Doing so will knock the amp into protect mode, but this is the only time when it will do it.

I also have a powercap connected - and I have checked at all leads are connected properly, nothings shorting out or anything and the powercap is correctly installed.

Any ideas on why it is doing this?

Number 1 : The amp is SPLX

Number 2: Its more than likely just the amp being really sensitive...like when a pop comes thru the RCA's it can chuck it into protect mode. Happened with an old kenwood monoblock i had all the time.
