Been down Cornwall for a week, was meant to be setting off back today but figured with it being bank holiday weekend and the fact that all trains are off, there would be way too much traffic so set off last nite instead, good idea me thinks.
Set off at 10pm, all goin well at 1.30am, had a stop at Stretcham Services, set off again 15 minutes later and disaster strikes, the car dies. This is on the M42 bang in the middle of the fcukin road works, no hard shoulder and only 2 lanes, had to pull up half on bankment and half on road, gets kids out (not too pleased to be woken up) and sit at side of road for 20 minutes for free recovery to come. Cars and lorries flashin and beepin at us as tho we broke down on purpose, and waiting til last minute to pull out of way, thought that was end of my guna. Recovery came, thought great were finally getting home, how wrong was I. He took us to their base, just off M42 where we had to wait for RAC to get us. The bloke (who wasnt from RAC, but a fcukin moron who wasnt from the area and didnt know his way around) finally came at just after 4am, didnt even bother looking at car to see if he could fix it, just loaded us on back and set off at about 40mph all way home, finally got in at just after 6am, knackered and not very happy
As you can probably tell I am pretty pissed off, we were apparantly a priority cos we had kids but they fcuk us about like that and take forever to get to us. Has anybody else had any probs from RAC and do you think its worth complaining?

Well, this thread went surreal very quickly!
I'd complain about that trip, though, jo_jess...

True!
At the end of the day, despite being extremely late, you got home safely, and that's the main thing.
