Right should be off to uni soon and thinking about getting a cheap car to use. at minute i got a 106gti and no chance i am leaving that in car parks unattended so plan was get a cheap corsa merit or somat along the lines. drop a 2.0 16v in it and jobs a good un.
Just wanting to know if all the corsa chasis's are same strength. my mate has got a 2.0 16v in his SRi and it is fine but just wanting to make sure i can do same if i get a 1.2/1.0.
Which parts do you need off the 1.4 16v? is it just fuel pump and radiator?
Is it still the same to wire them up?
if i do this it will be totally standard bar some larger steelies off a big vaux ie. 15s with low profile tyres on. i do not want to attract any thieving scum to it at all.
Cheers

Yeah would be seriously funny. my mate has a bog standard sri bar lowering and wheels and you should see some of the looks he gets when he pulls up at lights.

i was gonna do this, but decided against the idea, far too much stuff to do, need a new fuel tank cos diesel ones dont have the swirt pot and pump, clean lines etc..
put in a 1.7 and run at 1.5 bar easy 130 bhp. its been done on a veccy and im doing it.

nah aint interested in diesel power cant stand it. gotta be a 2.0 16v redtop. so no go in the diesel, do you only need fuel lines, tank, pump(which would need anyway) just that there is a td corsa for cheap near me with ceased engine. is wiring same on the diesel?

diesels have no wiring lomb atall, as they are mechanically controlled, ie no ecu, i imagine it would be a lot easier to convert a petrol

as far as what ive found out,the sri's and gsi's have better anti roll bars, so they would need changing.and to fit the 2.0 16v red top in the engine bay you must have the slim radiator from the 1.4 or 1.6 16v engine, the hubs have to be changed to accept the bigger driveshafts, and the in tank fuel pump must be used!
