Is there a knack to getting it to come off the centre section?

I've unbolted the clamp but i'm having a little trouble getting it off, mostly because of the cramped working space....

Any help is appreciated.

Mike..

squirt WD40 in and around the join, leave for a couple of hours to penetrate, then pull and hammer like fuk to get it off

if you still cant, then u need a hot spanner, take your car & ur new back box to ATS or something and get them to fit it, £20

Right behind the rear bumper, yeh.

Although i don't wanna leave the thing hanging off the rest of the pipe so they are hooked back on for now.

Hmm i've got it half off.... gradually working my way down....

I've noticed the clamp is spot wlded to the old back box!

I might have to hacksaw through the weld to use the clamp.

i got all my work done by the local garage. i saw the guy that was working on my car use a blue torch thingy to heat the welds up, then a hammer to bash them out. you might as well spend £30 to get them to do it, if anything goes wrong then you can take it back to them again and again. anyways... good luck

Right i've got the old one off now!

But i've stopped because it's gone dark

Tried to quickly put the new one on but it wouldn't go far enough onto the pipe for the hangers to clear the bumper.... Will have to find a way to get it on nice and tight now...

After all that i'm gonna get kwik fit or someone to slot the new one on because i haven't got a clamp to secure it... and they might as well finish it.
