Ok, don't laugh or anything I'm not clue'd up on these things.
Anyways I saw a pair of bonnet lifters for the mk1 golf real cheap so thought i'd grab them.
Opened the package, and they look identical to the pvd ones for the corsa.
my question is this, what makes these things car/model specific? they all look the same to me!
Is there any chance the mk1 golf ones will fit the corsa, i'm gonna try tmrw anyways.
Oh yea. are these things meant to compress or something? cos when i opened the pack the lifters were SOLID, ie i couldn't get them to push in.
I'm probably gonna get laughed at but haven't got the foggiest about em!
thanks in advance

Not sure about whether the golf ones will fit.
They will seem solid because the springs will be very hard to compress.... it's got to be strong enough to lift the bonnet remember!

i WOULD NOT fit them to a corsa
each one has a different length and compression.
fit them wrong, and they will litterly bend your bonnet, smash thru windowscreen etc, the force on them is VERY strong
stay away

Am i guessing that the corsa one will be easy to fit because when the bonnet is up they will fit perfectly at full extension.
Meaning you don't have to try and compress them yourself.
