Just a quickie
I wanna hook my neon up so it comes on when I open my boot. I have a boot light already if that helps. Could someone give me a step by step guide on how to do it please?

i believe its positive wire on the neon to the poistive wire on the boot light and also negative to negative. then when you open your boot the neon will come n just like the boot light

cut the cig socket off and just strip the wire, and crimp or just twist the wires together

im guessin u need some splitters if you still wanna keep the boot light aswell! spose you could wire in a switch and put it in nest to the boot light so you can turn it on when you need to use it or vice versa could have a switch for the neons!

Halford/Maplin do these little blue clips...
they allow you to tap into an exsiting wire without cutting it..

Hey guys, To follow on with the discuisson, How would you fit it for your neon's to come on in the boot if you don't have a light in the boot, Is there anyway or am I better just fitting the neons and adding a switch which can manually turn the lights on??

You won't electricute yourself from a neon or bulb, they carry less than an amp current.
If you don't have a light in the boot probably best adding a manual switch or tapping them off something else like interior light/sidelights etc...

DO NOT CUT OFF THE CIG LIGHTER UNLESS YOU KNOW THE STARTER FOR THE NEON IS IN THE TUBE HOUSING.
You will totally destroy it otherwise.
You are better off buying some of these from ebuyer:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/51686/rb/23099677074
You can wire the earth of these directly to the boot pin switch wire, or the earth connector of the actual boot light itself.
