screw that mate, at the end of the day, you'll only get it nicked again. Get the pioneer 77MP (doesnt look hot, but it has 6.5v preouts and is the best thing for the price) and spend the rest on decent security although for the price mate, £680 odd, why not save up and get a clarion flip up screen? And if i had 600 odd quid i certainly wouldnt be spending it on sony mate, they arnt the best things in the world and the looks are the only thing going for them, for that price i would look at getting some propper gear that will sound the MUTZ !

Im not gonna be paying £600 for it, i can get one for £350 cos my cousin works for sony and is going to the european plant where they make them, with the money im saving i will invest in security I know sony are renound for their performance but im really not looking for that, i just want looks basically, cant find anything to match this one for that reason

if ya getting it for 350 then it'll be bargin, but still its sony mate However have a look at the Panasonic CQ-HX1083N, Pioneer DEH-P8400MP and Panasonic CQ-HX2083N. All of them are nice units and will sound alot better than a sony

Also you will find that unit isnt a face off, they just give you a little black bag to put on it

mate if you go for the sony, make sure you have some mean security especially since it isnt face off, in which case some pikey will just rip the thing out and walk away laughing

I know everyone says how crap sony are but i had no complaints with my old CDX MP70, i watever i asked it to do it coped more than well, i suppose its personal opinion, ive alwys gone for looks rather than performance, got to admit it looks awesome!!
Thanks for the other suggestions tho guys, il look into them!
One last question, someone told me id need an amplifier to run it cos it hasnt got an on board one so if i bought a phoenix amp would i get phoenix sound quality??

...the thing is its only got 2.5v preouts, which is suitable but it isnt exactly SQ equipment and tbh mate, i would look at getting a HU with 4v preouts if i was thinking about amping it (thats why i got a pioneer 77MP, has 6.5v outputs, it will give me a nice clean signal to amps).
And yes you will need amps since it doesnt have a internal amp. As for sound quality, it all depends on the signal that is coming out form the headunit as well as the amps, and other factors.
To behonest mate, for a sony it isnt worth it. It looks good, far enough but if you having to amp stuff, then whats the point, if the signal coming out of the HU is crap it doesnt matter how much you spend your money on amps, wiring etc, its still going to sound pants.

Clarion DXZ835MP. I'm still yet to find a Pioneer unit that can match it bar the Pro series DEQ units ($2.5k USD).
