I've not got one, but from what i've heard, provided your sunstrip/lettering doesnt come below the tip of your wiper when its vertical, you're ok...

if the wiper touch the lettering at all when on or vertical (same thing really, lol) it should fail for it. If it does they will just take em off n u can get new ones put on.

if it covers more than 8 inches of the screen (depth that it, not the length) it will fail.

Nope, The rule is that NOTHING is allowed in the swept area of your windscreen (ie the bit the wipers sweep over). I know cos the MOT guy that failed me told me

I had a border around the full windscreen of my cav on the inside and they made me take it off.... it did'nt obscure the wiper path... Ill always wonder if the fact that the MOT man caught me with his daughter have anything to do with it somethings are best left unsaid

i spoke to the MOT helpline.

From the drivers seat you must have 215mm of clear vision,

but basically as the other guys were saying can't block the wipers.

as a rule of thumb - teh same length as teh sunvisor, cause that can't be illegal, can it?

I think this law has recently changed..
It used to be either 6 or 8" down the screen.. Now its if the wipers sweep over it at all..

I remember when I was mis-guided & had a dimma strip, the wipers used to foul the strip & it showed as it actually wore the strip down, yet the test station I took mine passed it ok, they werent fussed tbh, even with a shagged wheel bearing!

It depends really on where you take it & if the MOT tester got any off his missus/lover the night before
