I need to build a false floor for my corsa b. Whats the easiest way of going about this? Also, the spare wheel seems to give a 'mound' in the boot so would i have any problems with this - ie will the false floor rock from side to side?!!!
Thanks alot for you help.
PS What is the best thickness MDF to use? 18mm?

OK peeps, the easyest way to do this is to get a BIG piece of cardboard and cut around it, to the shape of your boot. 1" this is best, cos i might be holding a few things (amps etc etc... )
Then build little supports to go under this (if needed) to stop any movement. Although it "shouldn't" move once all your equipemnt is in place..
Also the use of Dynamat would be a good idea, to stop road nocie and sound vibrations

I want to build a false floor for my Corsa C, but how do i do it so i can still get my spare wheel out if i need to
I'm only gonna have 2 amps and a sub box in the boot.
It worries me that i'll break down and won't be able to get the spare wheel out if i need to!!!

For a Corsa B. I built mine out of MDF, two sections, a little one on left side and a large one on right, these sit on lats which raise the floor up an inch or two, thus allowing all cabling to go under. Used the mat thats in the boot to draw onto mdf then it was just a case of sanding it down on edges over and over till the two parts sat flat in the boot on the lats. It doesn't move in the slightest but if need be can get it all out to get to spare, would take a good 30mins at least tho. I've got two 12's, an amp and a cap.

How do you get the spare out then. Unscrew everything, and fold the small section over the second?

nothing is screwed down, just velcro'd, the small piece pulls out then the larege one will come out. i mean, there'd be a massive pile of stuff stuck on the roadside but you could get to the wheel in an emergency! might just invest in tyreweld to be honest, lot less hassle seen as my alloys are 17's and my spares a 13!

huh?? what's that then? is it the cans of stuff you can spray into the tyre through the valve that'll inflate it for a certain amount of time/distance or summat
Cos that would mean you don't need to get the spare out wouldn't it!
I suppose if i get my alloys, i could buy 5 and put the spare on show as part of the install maybe???

yep, thats the stuff, would save alot of hassle, i'm guessing most people who have custom installs probably use it cause some installs i canot see any way that they'd get the spare out

when you come to get the puncture fixed though, wouldn't all that shit fall out of the tyre when their changing it? Don't suppose it would be our problem though!
