no u dont need a reverse light , you dont even need a reverse
or is it if you have a reverse the light has to work ?

well with an mot the basis is if its on the car it has to work properly so i'd say yes it would fail

They say wot is there has to work but like your spare u can take out and it will still pass cant fail wot cant see and wots not there m8

no, mine didnt -and I went to a proper place not a dodgy back street garage - they did recommend that I sorted them - but said it wasnt an essential item for the mot

This inspection does not apply if no drivers or front passenger's doors were fitted as part of the original design of the vehicle.
A lack of door handles because of original design characteristics or specialist modification is not a reason for rejection provided the door can be latched securely in the dosed position.
Open and close the drivers and passengers' doors. Check that each latches securely in the closed position. Check also that front doors can be opened from both inside and outside the vehicle.
thats an interesting point..... Stubbsy - it doesnt say nething about needing a mechanical method of opening the car - as longer as u can both open and close the door it'll pass

no they dont have to work. i had a MOT and my didnt work and it passed. Its not on the MOT check list
