Just wondering, I was complained at today by a policeman for my plates being "blatently illegal"...

He said he'd let me off for now, but I was to get them changed immediately and I'm lucky not to have a £1000 fine

I never knew the fine amount was that high?! Is he right, or just spouting to get me worried?

Bloody 'ell...

I'd heard that if you got caught 3 times they could take the plate away, didn't know about the £1000 fine though!

Ally - private plates are legal, but I suspect it might have something to do with my rather suspect spacing and screwhole positioning...
