Looks good mate, but......

U really wanna get a larger diameter cold air feed, preferably made from a metallic material like alumiunium.

That rubber/plastic flexible hose you have there is just absorbing heat, and transferring it to the air passing thru.

ALthough u got the right idea with the alu surround

you know the inlet manifold bit - the bit that still a little yellow - i managed to clean mine up to bright silver by using some sugar soap and a wire brush - worked a treat

I think he DIY made it... the performance gains would be negligble, just improve engine breathing, maybe a bit better responsive

i had autoglym engine cleaner and thats as good as I could get it wo that..But i'll try your idea...

The alloy heatshield was made for chris bingham off here..got it off him...When bonnet down seals to the under bonnet insulation..keeps some heat out..seems to do the trick..

And yeah need a bigger feed into it...

cheers for the comments..
goin to spray cover too...............in rio verde I think...

sugar soap is used to clean walls before you paint them. You will probably be able to buy it from B&Q
I think i will try cleaning my manifold tomorrow with this!

I cleaned the Corsa engine bay with a steam cleaner, brought it up great. Mum wasn't happy when she cleaned the carpet and there was oil over the end of it though...

Re Mavs heat sheild, it is a custom one-off that was made for my Corsa. Took ages to make from what I'm told and it did the trick. 105.5 bhp out a 1.4 16v Sport can't be bad.
