Drifting is basically controlled oversteer.

You can drift in GT3... through on some simulation tyres, ans soft rear suspension with plenty of power and away you go. Really easy to do with the steering wheel.

Just so everyone knows, its neigh impossble to do a proper sideways drift in a FWD car.

Yeah, wow i can get the back of mine to slide out on roundabouts with a flick of the wheel and a tap on the hand brake, but "drifting" is the sorta thing u do in Sega rally or GT3 with a Skyline/scooby, where ur slid side ways, with the wheels almost facing forward etc.....Not a 75bhp corsa.

i think what matt is trying to say is that you cant call it drifting in a 75 bhp FWD car.... its more like youve tryed to handbrake it round the corner and dropped into a lower gear.

yep

U cant get a FWD cat to 'drift' because there is no power at the back wheels, therefore no traction loss through wheel spin, meaning all u get on a FWD (whether it be 75bhp or 275bhp) is a slide. Coz thats all the back of the car is doin, is sliding side ways due to a dramatic change in forces acting upon it.

ie: to make this clearer - only a RWD or 4WD will donut, due to immense power thru the back wheels, which gets to a point, where it almost simulates zero friction (laterally), so the car spins.

Matt
