no an 8v is not more torquey than a 16v per se. 16v peak high up the rev range but modern cars usually have a flat curve. 8v are better at low speed generally because of airflow at low engine revs, however modern day cars are better. if it is going intot he brava he'd be better off witht eh 20VT engien from the coupe ratehr than an old integrale block. 16V produced more power than the 8v block BTW

he not worried bout power as he gonna struggle to get it down anyway.
hes only gonna be doin 1/4 and the like
the 20vt dunno why but the garage refused or summin and the insurance quotes he was gettin was silly
hes had it off the road since feb now.
he loves avanti lol
so bottom end the 8v is better?
thats wot he's more interested in. and hes heard it is more reliable

8v is a waste of time, go for the 20v, if hes only using it for the strip they why not get show car insurance with seriously limited milage.

For once i agree with Vibrio.
8v is much smoother than a 16v. I used to love driving Donnas old SRi, but used to get to about 4000rpm and didn't seem to go any faster Where as my old 16v used to really pickup at 3500-4000rpm.
