Had ameeting this morning..

AT moment I do nights..I am a Team Leader / TECH assistant......NOt bad job..in charge of 5 women and do set-ups fault finding etc..Still classed as production group.

Engineering manager asked me this mornin If I want to go across into equipment group....

He said the job will be an ' Equipment Engineer '
Good job. Better money....

And 6 months dayshift then onto rotating shifts dayshift / backshift / nightshift.

Really happpy as they came to me...Must have been doing something right

And I do not have to keep 5 women in check

Should all be happening in January.....

preventative maintenence on all m/cs.. (alot) monthly ,3 monthly and yearly PM'S....
Calibration and diagnostics of all test systems.
all problem solving
Yearly projects (goals)
alot of wee things involved.
ordering of parts
sourcing suppliers of parts

Anything goes wrong online with a m/c the maint eng gets called..to fix it.

other than that sit in the plant room drinking coffee... well thats what the other 4 engineers do...
