Basically a couple or so weeks ago i had an accident at work with an angle grinder which resulted in me having 7 stitches between my lip and nose.
Today at work somebody said that if they were me then they would be claiming as it's left a scar and as it's on my face i should get a tidy amount.

i personally wouldn't say that the accident was caused by anything that the company could prevent although the grinder wasn't P.A.T tested but then again i wouldn't say that it was my fault.

question is, so i have a case for a claim??

Yes you do have a case for a claim as long as you were wearing all safty equipment provided by your company and working to their guidelines.

I had an accident with an angle grinder myself 3 years ago and i got 5.5k

yea matey get a claim in, hope you've put it in the accident book or they might be a bit dodgey about it,

its the companys responsibilty to provide the right PPE (personal pretective equipment)

so obviously saftey specs aint enough. so get a claim in

Could you have done the same job in a bench grinder? Was a bench grinder available for the task? Would it have been safer to have used a bench grinder.
So many dependants.
