the corsa isnt blessed with the best handling ever - a 2 litre by the laws of physics will make it worse.
is the understeer/ nose heavy action that bad or can it be overcome with the right set up?

its controlable , you can get the back out easy enough but all you have to do is accelarate and it will pull you round the right way, a lot easier than having boost come in all of a sudden.

Not too good in the wet, and rolls a lot in the dry, but it sticks to the road ok. Im only running springs and standard dampers and apart froma bouncy (but comfy) ride it goes alright.
Also lasted 20 minutes odd at Silverstone at Trax this year so carn't be too bad. Also made some good ground on some better cars too.
It understeered a bit, but then the tyres i've got on the front have lasted me over 2 years and have got to be the hardest compond i've even driven on. This of course means the grip is lost, big time, so it was understandable.
2.0 Corsas go alright round bends if y spend out on a good suspension, anti roll bar and straut brace.
(Bit of lean here, but standard shox and just lowered springs remember!!!)
This guy started off in the group before me And i slowed down to the back of my pack to give myself some room. Fully stripped, he only had 1 seat Whoooop assssssss

i'd expect it to handle quite well with a nice eibach anti roll bar fitted but you are allways going to know it is a compromise and that the lighter 1.6 is going to be better

All front wheels drive cars will understeer when pushed to the limit regardless of being a 1.6 or a 2ltr. IMO turbo 1.6 are stupidly expensive and very unreliable.
my corsa 2 ltr handles really well i got koni ajustables and eibach springs all round on 15's. Used to have a 1.4 16v and handlings hardly changed as mentioned above does get affected in the wet altho there isnt much weight difference in a 1.6 /2ltr roughly the weight of an extra passenger?
People always asume that handling is really bad with a 2ltr, its not the best in the world but still fairly good. Dont help corsa's dont handle well to begin with.

i Have a 1.2 8v and my handling is pretty amazing for what the car is. hopefully i wont loose too much when the 2.0 goes in.

Well with what Daimo has said if you then think about his handling experiences in his car but then running some good shocks like some Koni adjustables, or coilovers........your well away, it aint gonna be amazing but you'll get used to it and know your limits. It will still be better than every car as standard, except maybe pugs but they are just tin cans.

"not too good in the wet and rolls a lot in the dry"
I think the general consensus is they dont handle too well but that is compensated for by the power. Not sure that does it for me

Corsa's aint too good in the wet to start with so you aint loosing much there.
Daimo's quote is about a car that is running lowering springs and standard shocks, so with good shocks it would improve greatly.
And I point you towards this quote "mine is a fooking twat in bad weather but in dry is sooooo much fun"
The handling isn't amazing as its a big engine in a small car, yet with the right suspension setup they will handle well enough to use the power and enjoy it, give me a raw drive with some good power any day.

It aint like your running a 3.0l v6, itl be different but not bad. Using the right tyres can transform the handling feel of your car, go along to a track day or sommit and see if they someone will let u drive it.
IF its as bad as your predicting its a wonder why so many people have them

mine handles fine...... just a bit lively underbreaking (ARSE lifting up etc )
but i have huge breaks on the front and no weight in the rear!
car can be made to handle in diff ways.... understeer or oversteer.... and the best in my opinion.... drifts neatrally
just need a decent setup (dont think mine is decent)
Get LEDA's - costly but good...
std shocks is asking for trouble...

Just got mine back today and it handles fine, its p1ss wet through outside aswell.
I'm finding traction to be a much biger deal than handling,my car had never spun the wheels in its life before!!

Mine handles fine, very little difference from when it was a 1.2
All I notice is that its livelier coming out of the corners as there is more power there.
