get the temp sensor on the mfd to work? i dont think my car has one but what would be involved in fitting one?

by temp sensor do u mean outside temp reading?
by mfd do u mean mid (multi info display) but in ures most likely tid (triple info display)?

just the one that tells the radio channel, or the one with the time and temp either side of the radio channel

one with time and temp on either side, time and date works but temp dont

does it just have --.- showing?
if so then the sensor is behind the front bumper, test the wiring to the sensor by just earthing it. the gauge should go to its maximum.
if it does, then just get a replacment sensor from vauxhall £7
