i have 2 goldfish in a medium sized tank "i could get measurement if needed.

but im having to clean the filter/pump every week or so now its pissing me off used to be a month or so

do i need a bigger filter/pump
i have a ipf duo 2 atm

what do u ppl have what u reccomend?

i got this thing which is bit like a tea bag and u put it under the gravel and it keeps the water clean for a extra couple weeks, got it from petsmart bout 3 squids

carbon filter aye mine is built into the pump

im thinking i shud just get a bigger pump

sounds like the pump is too small for the tank.

I have a fluval but my tank is 5 foot long and i keep piranhas

goldfish are the muckiest fish around ,trops are much cleaner.i would say bigger filter as sed above .make sure the water is moving around not still have the filter movin the water at the top of tank around makin small splashes if you et me .and an air brick.

do they have a carbon filter built in?

was thinking of gettingt he ipf duo 4 over double the size of the one ive got

nah, but id advise having carbon in. You do get ones with carbon. Good for keeping ammonia levels down.

had one of them dun like it tis easyer to clean the tank like this
swish the gravel round when cleaning the tankand glass the pump sucks it all in and clean the pump when it says to or output slows

the pump runs water from left to right filtering thru the black carbon sponge then the filter sponge

Pets At Home tank there, nice starter kit lol, heres my tank tho! also Adam, fluval 3 would b too big for ure tank, is it in sunlight if so, move it out the way, u'll still need to do regular water changes but with a fluval 1 in there and dont feed them that much, u'll find that the water will become cleaner,

cheers anton, yeh well worth it, ive been waitin for a while now, till i culd sell my lizards now ive got these great fish aswell. Pets at Home got a few good deals on.

i had a seven foot tank with loads of different species in.my gran has most of the fish now .the large showl of zebra danios where best ,about 30 of them they where so fast though

yes it is a pets at home starter but prfect for the bedroom!
