Just been out for a spin in my mate's Corrado. He picked it up yesterday for £2.5K. Mucho fun - great handling as standard and what a fantastic bark off that V6 Needs a few bits and pieces here and there, but it's pretty immaculate for the money and looks so classy. I've just changed my pants after we hit 130mph on one of the twisty back roads round here (he was driving - much better driver than me ). Would be tempted to seek one out, but I know it'd be too difficult to resist modifying it.

Didn't feel as quick as the Corsa, but then it's around 170bhp per tonne as compared to my figure of around 250bhp per tonne. But the engine has a very wide powerband and a kind of creamy refined power delivery. It just picks up and goes and goes

very nice motors, was interested before I got my GTI but higher running costs and repair bills put me off. Would still have one though as they are pretty bomb proof, handle supurbly, crackin engine and should hold its value well.

Yeah gambit i know they look girly on std wheels
A set of 16's would be required (probably multi spokes of some description) drop, jap exhaust and lil' spoiler would be all i'd want (and the obvious induction roar for the vti to bellow thru ) oh and it's got to be black or blue

Actually, I might be having Rob's (my mate's) Audio 90 20V quattro off him.

It's 12 years old but each time winter comes round up here, I fancy getting some 4-wheel drive transport. Would sell the Golf though. He wants around £2K, which I think isn't too bad, especially as it's been completely overhauled this year (he's an Audi/VW mechanic)

Yes Tom - I need a second car. Things like a boot, the ability to carry passengers and drive around town without keeping the revs over 4000rpm are quite useful

0n 18's, look pretty good IMO but need the VTI as the 1.5 and 1.6 SOHC are pretty slow
