Hi All,
I know thse questions get asked all the time but I need some idea of cost for doing the following as a guideline...
1) Fitting and Spraying a new front bumper
2) Fitting and Spraying GSI side skirts
both bits will be plastic, front bumper may involve relocating the washer fluid bottle and will also involve wiring up fog lights to the switch and fuse box in the car, with no exisiting wiring present.
Any clues would greatly help me. thanks!

Thanks for that Taz. Im gonna try to ask my uncle to do it as he's got a really good reputation but he's busy and i haven't seen him in years!
so I'm looking at about £300. How much for arches, rear bumper trim, door handles and mirrors too? oh and maybe a side front wing! Seriously!

the more u do the cheaper it gets if it all gets done at the same time,if i do a full colour coding ie f/r bumpers, door handles, mirrors, around £400 wings depends if u want the surrounding panels blended as well (so all the paint matches well) wing on its own £110 or £150 if u want it blended into the bonnet and door.

Are bumpers and wings sprayed while they are on the car then?

If you are spraying the wing then, depending on where tha damage is, you will most likely need to paint the door aswell for the match. It's not often that you paint the bonnet if you paint the wing, nearly always the door. Wings can be painted on the car, but bumpers usually need to be taken off, a lot easier that way.

I think I'll give up on the wing idea.
I'll still look into the bumper though - its the fog lights and the wiring that my concern right now (see other thread)

nah spray the wings off, they only take about 10 mins to take off anyway.
what bumper requires the bottle being moved out of curiousity?

Air Dam Kris - apparently. Irmscher said it won't fit cars with Air Con and or PAS - I've both - will it fit??
Ive just been to see my uncle and have got the following quote:
Irmscher Front Air Dam Bumper - sprayed, fitted and fogs wired to dash
All Arches smoothed and sprayed
Rear bumper trim sprayed
Side bump strips sprayed
Wing mirrors sprayed
GSI Skirts fitted and sprayed
All for... £250 - £300
What do you think? Im pretty pleased.
GSI 5dr Skirts are £99, Front Air dam, with fogs is £360, switch is £8 and relay is £6.

its the fogs which are the problem, the aircon rad is prob in the way. if it comes to it dont use the fogs. what u need relay for? it come with one in the wiring lomb with the fogs.

Im thinking of leaving the rear as standard - the only rear I like is the Irmscher one and it isn't different enough to warrent so much money on it. I still want a SS back box on the rear though to finish it off nicely.
Think PVD were the only company to fit Steiny skirts for a 5dr, but don't do them now. Quite like Tims Reiger ones though.
I like the GSI ones as there deep at the front (as is the Air Dam) and shallow at the rear (like the standard rear) so theoretically the flow of the skirts will bridge the gap between the two bumpers well.
Kris what do you mean don't use the fogs? Do you get a wiring loom with the fogs? I don't quite get you mate.

After a quick drive up the A5 to Lichfield, look what I've come back with:
The wheels are in motion. Picking up the Air Dam front bumper next Saturday, then after my uni graduation (No idea why they do it in January!) I'll be putting my car into the bodyshop for total colour coding (apart from roof rails).

well i got a full wiring lomb with my fogs.
when i sayt done use them, just mesh over the holes instead, oh i recommend buying some black mesh by foliatec or something cos the stuff which comes with the airdam is crap and looks like chicken wire, lol
keep ya standard bumper, im changing mine to standard smoothed rear soon

Thanks for that Kris. Hopefully I'll get the whole loom with the Air Dam - Im phoning LMF on Monday to check if they can get one, picking it up Saturday, dropping that and skirts into bodyshop and then booking a date for the work, but need my car for my graduation ceremony so it may be early Feb when works done.
I need the Fogs - can you replace the ones you get with third party ones that aren't as deep?
Once this is done Im getting a Remus back box, then thats it - hopefully the rear will look ok - from the side - don't want a rear spoiler or diffuser as it will make the back end even more 'vertical' - like the curve of it as it is right now - just hope it fits the rest of the car.
I'll check the Air Dam's mesh when I get my hands on one next week.
(Still wanting Steiny mirrors!)

With specialist light tint spray? Is it legal to totally remove the coloured bits - in regards to light emittance?
Shall I de-badge the rear - still undecided? and what about putting the 16v badges on the bump strips again 'cos once there sprayed they'll be removed.

i would get mk4 golf side repeaters, the silver euro style front lights, and use foliatec or similar rear light tint, my bro has made his completely red, only thing it really effects is the reversing light, but seems as that is hardly used it doesnt really matter

What do Mk4 Golf repeaters look like? I tried the Astra Mk4 ones ages ago but had the whole 'drivers side not fitting thing' going on. surely the Golf ones won't connect to the Vaux connector?
I'll get me photoshop out and do some images of stuff now...
