before anyone says it i kno this should be in the ice electrics section but it doesnt get looked at as much as this one does so im posting here ok?
anyway i have an alpine cdm-9807rb and im having a few problems installing it basically because the 4x60 watts means i have to connect the power lead to the battery directly and earth it seperately which i dont kno how to do just wondering if any else has installed this cd player and has any advise which will save me from payin halfords £35 to do it for me.

always best to get it done professionally imo.
you just need to extend the live and earth cables to reach the battery dont u?

ive wired mine staright to the batt....make sure the power cable is the right type... and fuse it again.......
There is a red wire from the head unit which is meant to go to the ignition ....u can do it...but i didnr bother i just hard wired mine and take the facia off when im not using it..
Oh yeah bringin the power cable through from the engine bay i drilled a 10mm hole with a gromit on behind the batt low down should go throght to the passenger foot well
job done
Dont pay £35 straight forward job.
