You won't get any mods to LOWER the insurance.
Also go for pass+ if you have the money.
Will be looking at around £1300 to insure a 1.4 8v sri at 17 with pass+ and a set of alloys on it.

Ohhhhhhhh.
A cat 1 alarm and immobiliser will probably reduce the cost.
Dunno about interior mods but your best off telling them just to be on the safe side

it shudnt do, but tell them any way, cuz if ur car gets stolen then write off, they might turn round and say 'well it had £1000's of ice, we didnt know about that, thats y the theives stole it, so we're not payin u a penny.' they can be bitches like that. and under bonnet mods, insurance companys tend to go on a percentage, the percentage of power the mod gives is the percentage the premium goes up. so i.e. your paying £2000, fit a manzel inlet, your now paying £2400

£160 a year? for a 2L? they must wieght things up way different in the uk so
a friend of mine drive a 2.2l honda prelude and its €946 a year for tax thats around £750 to u guys
once u go over a 1.6 in ireland the tax goes mental and its not like u get anything for that cos most of the roads are in a terrible condition.

nah nah normal speed applys I.E 30MPH in build areas 40-60 on national roads 70 on motor ways
ur allowed drive on yer own in the car on your second provisional here but i hear that there going to get rid of that soon although theres a 9 month waiting list for a driving test
should also mention VRT- Vehicle Registraion Tax
E.G if you buy a new car at lets say 20 Grand, 7 Grand of that would be VRT. So Basically if u drive the car off the lotand around the block and back after buying it its only worth 14 Grand.
Loads of fun really

and I though we were taxed bad over here!!
One thing which made me not get a CAT1 alarm & imob, was when I was trying to get a quote (was with zurich), they wanted to bump the premium UP by near £200 just for fitting an alarm!! told em where to go & never fitted one, and I don't plan on fitting one either cos its not like it will be worth stealing, there be fuk all in it

i have just insured my 1.0 98R reg corsa with alloys declared with norwich union for £1360 fully comp with pass plus, courtsey car etc on policy. Pass plus has taken 52% off the premium which made it the lowest of the insurers that insured for mods.
Pass plus is deffo worth doing for the little amount of hassle it causes and the cost. Mine has payed for itself bout 15 times !!!!!

i dont think that in jersey we have plus pass, we dont even have an mot, also our insurence is lower then the u.k due to it being a 9 by 5 mile long island and the fact that the speed limit is 40 max, it sucks but o well nice little country lanes to go down, that police never check,

most insurance companys when u have fully comp insure ICE for £1k,
and when it comes to alarms amd imblolisers u dont get discount ,
the only time u need one is if the Insurance company request it and u need to have proof or your car wont be insured for theft
thats what ive found out woking for DirectLine , they wont insure new customer under 25 with MODS now ....
for a 18 yearold on a corsa SRi directline would be about £2.5k
